Description
Whether you are preparing for birth, navigating the postnatal period, or looking for support across your whole journey into parenthood, I offer a range of packages rooted in traditional Mexican wellbeing practices, decolonial care, and over a decade of experience in maternity and community services.
I am an Abuela-trained doula and doula mentor, social anthropologist, and traditional postnatal care practitioner originally from the Huasteca region of Mexico. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally-responsive, and anti-racist, shaped both by ancestral knowledge passed down through my mother and grandmother and by years of professional experience supporting families facing significant barriers to care.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and particularly welcome Latin American families. I am the founder of RedMAMI, the Latin American Migrant Maternities Network, a City of Sanctuary Maternity Ambassador, and Volunteers Coordinator at Doulas Without Borders.
I offer four packages to suit different needs and stages of pregnancy.
Raíz is a birth planning package for those who want dedicated space to explore their options and build a personalised birth plan.
Polen is a birth-only package offering continuous doula support during labour.
Semilla combines antenatal preparation with birth support, and
Flor is a complete journey package covering the full arc from pregnancy through to the postnatal period.
For postnatal care, Retoño offers nurturing support in the weeks after birth, drawing on la cuarentena — the Mexican tradition of the 40-day lying-in period — as well as rebozo closing ceremony and healing foods. I hold the postnatal period as sacred, unhurried, and central to long-term maternal wellbeing.
I also offer standalone rebozo closing ceremonies for those who would like this ritual on its own, outside of a full postnatal package, as well as traditional postnatal closings workshops, where I facilitate this practice for groups and fellow birth workers wanting to learn how to hold this ceremony for others.
